Bhagwan Mahavir |
In the present era, the original proponent of Jainism was Bhagwan Rishabhdev, and the last Tirthankara was Bhagwan Mahavir. In Bhagwan Mahavir’s Chaturvidh Sangh, there were five hundred thousand men and women. The Muni Sangh was divided into nine sections under the leadership of eleven Ganadharas. The lay community (Shravakas and Shravikas) comprised individuals from every class and caste. His followers were spread across all corners of India, and beyond India - in regions such as Gaandhar, Kapisha, and Paarsik - there were also devotees.
