when one has interest in certain thing then his efforts are directed in that direction only. During the wrong belief stage, one develops interest in the spiritually. then he directs his attention in the reflective thought process vikalpaatmak dashaa towards obtaining knowledge about the true nature of the soul. His efforts are in the form of kshayopsham of gnaan (knowledge associated with annihilation cum subsidence of karma, Illuminated knowledge, gnaan no ughad.) This is his personal spiritual efforts in reflective thought process vikalpaatmak dashaa. When one obtains right faith samyak darshan , then his personal efforts purushaarth becomes samyak. His personal spiritual efforts are in the right direction. In wrong faith stage, the purushaarth is of kshaayopsham gnaan. In aspirant stage the purusharth is of samyak purushath. |

Ruddhi |
growth, prosperity, rise; elevation, exaltation; accomplishment; Lakshmi; Parvati., Due to intense austerity in some of the monks special types of powers are obtained. They are seven types: (Ref: dhavalaa book 9 from pages 53 onwards)
There are 7 main Ruddhi and there are 64 subclass. They are as follow:
1: Buddhi Ruddhi-बुिद्ध ऋिद्ध-intellect power
1:Omniscient knowledge-कवल ज्ञान
2:Telepathy knowledge-मनःपयर्ह ज्ञान
3:Clairvoyance knowledge-अविध ज्ञान
4:Koshthashth Dhaanyopam-कोष्ठस्थ धान्योपम retention of knowledge just the way one keeps grains stored in the house in a container.
5:Bij Buddhi-बीज बुिद्ध-In his knowledge to completely accepting complete knowledge by reading and understanding complete scriptures.
6:Sambhinn Shrotrutva-संिभन्न श्रोतृत्व-to grab the wording of the army of universal monarch at a time.
7:Padaanusaari-पदानुसारी-to listen one part of the scripture and to under stand the remaining part of the same.
8: Duraadaaswaadan-दरादास्वादन-One knows the intense sense of taste as well as to know the taste of a thing up to countable yojans-Sankhyaat yojans-of distance.
9: Duraavalokan-दरावलोकन-One knows the intense sense of sight as well as to know the scene of things up to countable yojans-
Sankhyaat yojans-of distance.
10: Duraatsparsh-दरात्सपर्श-One knows the intense sense of touch as well as to know the touch of things up to countable yojans-
Sankhyaat yojans-of distance.
11: Duraadghraan-दरादघ्राण-One knows the intense sense of smell as well as to know the smell of things up to countable yojans-Sankhyaat yojans-of distance.
12: Duraadchchhravan-दरादच्छ्रवण-One knows the intense sense of hearing as well as to know the sound of things up to countable yojans-Sankhyaat yojans-of distance.
13: Pragna Shravan Buddhi-प्रज्ञाश्रवण बुिद्ध-Without studying he has knowledge of all 14 purva-ancient texts like Utpaada Puurva {Ancient Text on Creation etc.}
14: Pratyek Buddhi Ruddhi-प्रत्येक बुिद्ध ऋिद्ध-one obtains right faith and austerity without the guiding help of guru.
15: Abhinn Dash Purvi Ruddhi-अिभन्न दश पूवीर् ऋिद्ध-Having knowledge of 10 purva-ancient texts.
16: Chaturadashpurvi-चतुदसपुवि-He is shrut kevali, knows all fortune purva-ancient texts.
17: Vaaditva Buddhi Ruddhi-वािदत्व बुिद्धरुिद्ध-With this knowledge, he has capacity to defeat verbally the person of the other philosophy in debate.
18: Ashtaang Mahaa Nimit Buddhi Ruddhi-अष्टान्ग महानिमत्ति बुिद्ध ऋिद्ध-space, land, body parts, consonant, vowel, characteristics, sign, dream type of eight types of instrumental cause changes occurring and he will know the pleasure and pains occurring in past present and future times.
2: Tap Ruddhi-तप ऋिद्ध-austerity power. 7 subtypes: (Ref: Dhavalaa book 9 page 87)
19: Dipt Tapotishay Ruddhi-दीप्त तपोतिशय ऋिद्ध: He performs different types of austerities still having glowing physical body.
20: Tapt Tapotishay Ruddhi-तप्त तपोतिशय ऋिद्ध: He accepts and eats alms but it does not get converted to fecal or urination types of waste.
21: Mahaa tapotishay ruddhi-महा तपोतिशय ऋिद्ध: with sensory, scriptural, clairvoyance and with telepathy he ends up knowing all three world’s living beings’ inclinations.
22: Ugra Tapotishay Ruddhi-उग्र तपोतिशय ऋिद्ध: intense fasting. One day fasting and then in the increment to perform fasting until death.
23: Ghor Tapotishay Ruddhi-घोर तपोतिशय ऋिद्ध: He performs intense type of all 12 types of austerities.
24: Ghor paraakram tapotishay ruddhi-घोर पराक्रम तपोतिशय ऋिद्ध: With intense austerity he gets power for destruction in all three worlds.
25: Ghor Brahmcharya tapotishay ruddhi-घोर ब्रह्मचयर् तपोतिशय ऋिद्ध: The monks in this type of power has performed intense austerity with intense form of celibacy. With this type of power, there is absence of diseases. 3: Vikriya Ruddhi-वििक्रया ऋिद्ध-power for transformable body.
This type of power has two subgroups.
1: kriyaa kriyaa has two subgroup: chaaran and aakaash gaman.
2: Vikriya: has 11 sub groups. |

One meditates on the Omniscient lord with His body. HE has peace on HIS face and all passions are gone. One meditates on the nature of the Omniscient Lord sitting in the samosaran Omniscient’s preaching hall with asht praatihaarya eight auspicious symbols. When one meditates on the nature of the Omniscient Lord who is without any altered inclinations of infatuation, attachment and aversion.
